Confessions of a Joan Crawford Fanatic
Stephanie, I have been reading your blog for a few years now and I feel I really connect with you in some ways. Unlike you I left a big city (Chicago) specifically to come home to TX. While there have been ups lately there seem more downs. Job I hate, no social life. I wonder if you might want to consider being online pen pals with the possibility of meeting in the future (when you find out I am not bat sh** crazy)? I know of ways you can see those movies you want for free and share an obsession with the Joan era. OK well enough for now, if you are interested, respond here and we can share emails. Oh I also belong to your Yahoo group if that makes it any better. Diane
Diane, thanks for your kind words. (And sorry that things haven't been going so great for you lately.) Honestly, though, I feel that I've spent the greater part of the last decade involved with "Internet people," to the detriment of my real-life relationships. (At least with Sandra, I knew her back in college; but that, too, deteriorated into just an Internet-thang.) And, truthfully, your message threw up a couple of red flags to me: One, when I clicked on your AOL profile link that you included, there was no info there. Two, I don't remember seeing any messages from you either on the Joan board or here. I feel that there's too much secrecy and role-playing on the Internet and that being "online penpals" would, for me, be just what I've been doing for the past few years. I want to avoid that very thing in the future.
Ha well I can certainly understand your "flags" however I hardly use AIM anymore and I have on one occasion been able to comment here under just my name. It was a post you had about groceries and soup I believe.I didn't want to leave you hanging that I was some weird internet stalker. Diane
Did you by any chance see "Best in Show"?"We both like soup." Just giving you a hard time! :)
