At this point near the end of the film, Vitti funnily says something like, you two have worn me out!
(Vitti's daughter-of-the-Industrialist character
isn't really the point of the whole film, though she's a catalyst. The
Moral Moreau has already been non-sexually open to new experiences for
the past hour of the film; the Immoral Mastroianni has been closed off
to anything but overt sexual experiences. They both converge on Vitti's
character at the end of the film.)
