How utterly embarrassing.
Very interesting video to see, but John in his David Bowie space-suit
(one guess who told him that looked good) and pony-tail looks stupid (as does the odd milieu of socialites among
the footlights for this particular song). He's only 35, but he looks like he's 50---like the decrepit Elvis that he once decried in 1980 interviews.
Thankfully, John retired soon after this. He had nothing to say to the universe after 1971. (I own all of his solo albums, and I like them a lot, especially "Walls and Bridges." But...his latter-day sense of self-importance and self-righteousness was much greater than the quality of his albums. Funny: "Self-importance" and "self-righteousness" were never characteristics of John Lennon in his Beatle years.)
